We used tools provided by Datron and Onsrud and compiled our results trimming plastics from Erkodent and Biostar in this video.
Results:
Generally all of the tools performed excellent around the front and sides of the arches.
All tools completed arches to a high standard, however there are some key areas along the aligner that will provide evidence in varying quality, areas are typical around the rear arches where the tool performs larger changes in axis orientation to access the inner area, and the frontal inner arch section where short incrimental tool movement occurs.
This evidence will appear as small plastic artifacting around the area of trim line which may result in a small amount of manual finishing.
Datron 0078320E Polish Provided an excellent trim around the front area with smooth edges and extremely small amount of artifact around the rear arches.
